Boeing 747-400

A paper model of the Boeing 747-400 airliner was made in 1:144 scale. The work was awarded at the 8th Competition of Paper and Plastic Models in Świdnik, Poland in 2014.

The Boeing 747 is an American long-range four-engine airliner, one of the largest jets in the world. Freight and passenger-freight versions are also produced. A characteristic feature of the Jumbo Jet is the hump on the hull, which houses the second deck. The first Boeing 747 was put into service with Pan American World Airways in 1970. It is produced until today (2014). 1,501 copies had been manufactured by the end of 2014.

Boeing 747 aircraft are used by the presidents of the United States. NASA used these planes to move space shuttles from the landing site to the Florida Space Flight Center.

The 747-400 version, the paper model of which is shown in the photos, is characterized by a longer second deck (longer hump) and curved wing tips (winglets). It was produced in the years 1989-2009. During this time, 694 copies of this version were made..
