An-2

A plastic model of the An-2 plane was made in 1:48 scale. The work got a distinction at the 9th Lublin Model Meetings in 2014.

An-2 was a multi-role Soviet-designed biplane, called by the pilots "Antek", was produced in the years 1949-1996 in the USSR, China and Poland (from 1960 under license in Mielec, Poland). In 2002, 4 more units for Vietnam were manufactured in Mielec. A total of 16,515 copies were made. So far (2014) it was the world's largest mass-produced single-engine biplane.

The An-2 aircraft was a reliable, easy to pilot and serve plane used in agriculture, as well as in military and passenger aviation. The undoubted advantage that influenced the popularity of the aircraft is that it needed a small area of level ground for take-off and landing. In addition to the wheeled undercarriage, it was possible to use skis or floats with this plane.
