Model of the Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-0 fighter

The photos represent a plastic model of the German Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-0 fighter made in 1:32 scale from the Zoukei-Mura SWS (Super Wing Series) set.

The Focke Wulf Ta 152 was designed as a result of the German aviation's demand for a high-altitude fighter to combat against allied bombers.

The H-0 version was a pre-production series consisting of 20 aircraft. After the end of the tests in mid-January 1945, these machines were put into combat. In the confrontation with the Allied aviation, it turned out that they had an advantage, were more agile and faster even than the Mustang P-51, at high altitudes. Despite this, they were not able to influence the fate of the war due to the small number of copies produced and the lack of experienced pilots.

The only Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-0 fighter that has survived to our times belongs to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, USA. However, it is not exhibit at the moment.

The Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-0 had a pressurized pilot's cabin. It was powered by a 12-cylinder engine with a displacement of 35 liters (2,136 in³). The engine was 2.266 meters (7½ ft) long and weighed 940 kilograms (2072 lb). The armament were two 20 mm (⅘ in) cannons built in the wings, and one 30 mm (1⅕ in) cannon in the propeller shaft.

Specifications:

  • Takeoff weight: 5,220 kg (11,508 lb),
  • Wingspan: 14.44 m (47⅘ ft),
  • Length: 10.82 m (35½ ft),
  • Height: 3.36 m (11 ft),
  • Engine power: 1375 kW (1870 KM - metric hp),
  • Max speed: 750 km/h (466 mph),
  • Service ceiling: 13.5 km (37,730 ft),
  • Range: 1,500 km (932 mi).
