Plastic model of the SU-24 bomber
The plastic model of the SU-24 plane was made in 1:48 scale. The work got a distinction at the 11th International Festival of Plastic Reduction Models Bytom 2014 in Poland.
The SU-24 was a two-seater Russian bomber with variable wing geometry, capable of combat in all weather conditions. At the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, there was a need for an aircraft that could pass anti-aircraft defense by flying at low altitude and at very high speed, and would have the ability to short take off and land. These requirements could only be realized by an aircraft with variable wing geometry. The bomber was equipped with an automatic system that allows you to fly at a low altitude at the set course, avoiding obstacles without the participation of a pilot.
The armament with a total weight of 7000 kg (15,432 lb) could be attached to eight hardpoints. The aircraft was capable of carrying nuclear weapons. It was also equipped with one 23 mm (0.91 in) gun. It was produced in the years 1972-1993.
