Plastic model of the Buffalo demining vehicle

The Buffalo 6x6 MPCV is an American-made armored vehicle designed to clear the area of unexploded ordnance and traps. The model was photographed at the 12th International Modeling Festival Bytom, Poland in 2015.

An approximately 9 meter long articulated arm and the camera enable the crew a demining without going outside. Infrared technology can detect dangerous ammunition.

A specially shaped bottom of the hull in the form of the letter "V" is designed to reflect the shock wave after a mine detonation. Pneumatic tires type of "Run flat" allow, after a puncture, to continue driving at reduced speed, for a distance of 16 to 80 km (10-50 mi) depending on the type of tire. The vehicle has all-wheel drive.

Bulletproof windows are 6 inches (15 cm) thick. The armor is resistant to 7.62 mm (0.3 in) bullets.

Due to the high height of the vehicle, boarding is carried out by a ladder leading to the open platform, and from there, you enter the cabin through an armored door, weighing 500 pounds (227 kg). Initially, these door was opened manually. An electric opening system was added during the modernization. If the electric system fails, it can use the manually pumped hydraulic system.

Buffalo is unarmed. It doesn't even have a machine gun position..

The basic crew is 2 people. There is space for 4 fully equipped soldiers in the cabin.

The first vehicles entered service in the USA in 2004. In later years, they were also used by the troops of Canada, France, Great Britain, Pakistan and Italy.
