Plastic model of the Diamond T 969 wrecker

The model truck was made in 1:35 scale from the Mirror Models kit. Only wheel chains were used from the Karaya kit.

During the construction, the modeller modeled himself on a photo showing a truck from the 6th Workshop Company of the 5th Kresowa Infantry Division. The photo comes from the book entitled "Pojazdy Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Zachodzie 1939-1945".

The above-mentioned 5th Kresowa Infantry Division was established in March 1943. The division took part in the fighting in Italy. After the end of the war it became part of the occupation forces and remained in this country until June 1946. Then it was withdrawn to Great Britain.

The Diamond T truck was being manufactured between 1940 and 1945 by the Diamond T Motor Car Company in Chicago, USA. The vehicle was being produced in various versions for the transport of goods and people. From 1943, most trucks were being made with an open cab..

The vehicle was equipped with a 8.7 liter (531 in³) 6-cylinder gasoline engine with 98 kW (131 hp). It reached a speed of 60 km/h (37.3 mph).

The Diamond T trucks were used in various countries for many years after the end of the war.
