Plastic model of the 12,8 cm Flak 40 Zwilling

The photos represent a plastic model of a double version of the German Flak 40 anti-aircraft gun. The work was made from the Takom kit in 1:35 scale.

You can see on the photos that the gun was placed on a concrete platform. The platform was a part of the Flakturm. The Flakturm was a tower-shaped bunker with air defense posts on top. The Germans built them in several cities. See what the Flakturms look like.

The Flak 40 guns started to be produced in 1942. The rate of fire of Flak 40 Zwilling, i.e. a double set, was 20 rounds per minute..
