Dennis 1914

A plastic model of the Dennis fire truck from 1914, made in 1:12 scale. The work was presented at the 10th Lublin Model Meetings in 2015, in Poland.

The vehicle, the model of which is shown in the photos, was manufactured by Dennis Specialist Vehicles Limited, a company founded in 1895 by the Dennis brothers. In the beginning, they were involved in the production and sale of bicycles. They produced the first motor vehicle in 1898. The company was best known for the production of cars for fire brigades. They also produced buses and specialized vehicles, such as garbage trucks and airport vehicles.

They produced the first fire truck in 1908. Vehicles like the one shown in the photo were produced in the second decade of the 20th century. They were equipped with 4-cylinder gasoline engines with a displacement of about 6.6 liters (403 in³) and power of 45 hp and 50 hp.
