Regulus

The photos represent a paper model of the "Regulus" GDY 337 ship from deep-sea fishing fleet of former "Dalmor" company. The model was made in 1:100 scale from the set of the "Fly Model" publishing house. The work was awarded at the 10th Competition of Paper and Plastic Models in Świdnik, Poland in 2016.

The "Regulus" fish processing trawler was built in the Gdańsk Shipyard. Seven B-414 trawlers were built between 1975 and 1977, including the "Regulus". She was decommissioned in 2000.

The vessel was designed to be fished from the stern and could fish in all types of fisheries in the seas and oceans. She was able to process 95 tons (UK-93.5 tons, USA-104.7 tons) of fish a day, which were then frozen in blocks.

The martial law was introduced in Poland in 1981, when the "Regulus" was in the Pacific Ocean. The fisherman Roman Gorzelec climb the ship gate and sat there in the wind and rain for 24 hours in protest against it. The captain decided to enter the Vancouver port due to the threat to the fisherman's life.
