HMS Rodney

The model of the British HMS Rodney battleship was built from scratch in 1:350 scale. The work got a distinction at the 11th International Festival of Plastic Reduction Models Bytom 2014 in Poland.

The construction of the ship began in 1922 and she entered service in 1927. During the Second World War, she operated in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas. During her service, the battleship received 11 combat honors. He took part, inter alia, in the sinking of the German "Bismarck" battleship. In 1946 she was decommissioned and sold for scrap in 1948.

The ship was heavily armored, but slow. Other disadvantage was that the fore guns were placed too close together. Their simultaneous salvos were a threat to the structure of the ship. They were being avoided during the war and not performed at all in peacetime. There were simultaneous salvos during the battle with Bismarck. Due to this, the deck of the battleship was damaged. HMS Rodney was sustained more damage from own guns than from the shells from the Bismarck.
