Büssing 8000 S 13

A plastic model of the Büssing 8000 truck was made in 1:24 scale. The work was presented at the 11th International Festival of Plastic Reduction Models Bytom 2014 in Poland.

The Büssing was a German company that specialized in the production of trucks and buses. It was founded in 1903 by Heinrich Büssing. In the same year, the company produced its first truck with a load capacity of around 3 tons (UK-2.95 t, USA-3.3 t). It had three gears and the drive was transmitted to the rear axle by chains.

A year later, the Büssing started producing buses. It also launched a 15-kilometer (9.3 mi) communication line using its own vehicles for transport. The company quickly became an important producer of trucks and buses in Germany.

In 1971, it was taken over by the MAN and the Büssing brand was gradually being withdrawn from use.

The Büssing 8000 S 13 truck was produced in 1952-1958. It was equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 13,539 cm³ (826 in³) and a power of 180 hp. It reached the top speed about 63 km/h (39 mph) and consumed about 26 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (UK-9.2 gal, USA-11.1 gal per 100 mi).
