Plastic model of the Zil 131 truck

The model was made in 1:72 scale. The work received a distinction at the 12th International Festival of Plastic Reduction Models Bytom 2015 in Poland.

Zil 131 was produced in the Soviet Union in the years 1966-2002. Much of the produced of trucks were intended for the Soviet army.

The truck had all-wheel drive, with the possibility of disabling the drive to the front axle. The vehicle was equipped with an 8-cylinders petrol V-engine. The engine displacement was 6 liters (366 in³) and a power of 150 hp. It had a very big appetite for gasoline. The Zil consumed 65 liters per 100 km on the road (UK-23 gal/100 mi, USA-27.7 gal/100 mi), and from 100 to 200 liters off-road (UK-35.4-70.8 gal, USA-42.5-85 gal).

The engine was good for Siberian conditions because the gasoline does not freeze. In addition, the vehicle was agile and had well overcoming obstacles. The maximum driveway and departure angles were 36° and 40°, and the driveway angle with the allowable load was 31°.

The truck was equipped with an emergency tire inflation system, as shown in the photos of the model.

From 1986, diesel engines were also fitted to modernized the Zil truck versions.
