Repair base - Lithuania 1944
The diorama represents the operation of the removal of a tank turret at a German repair base in Lithuania in the spring or summer of 1944. It was made on the basis of photos from the book "Repairing the Panzers" part 2, by Lukas Friendli.
The diorama was built in a 1:35 scale. They were used a plastic model of the Tiger I tank and two models of self-propelled cranes.
One of the cranes was mounted on the Sd.Kfz 9 half-track vehicle. The vehicle was designed as an artillery tractor, but it was mainly used by repair units.
The second crane was mounted on the Bussing-NAG L4500 truck. Trucks of this brand with a mounted crane and with a carrying capacity of 3 tons were designated as Kfz.100.
