Plastic models of the Mark V and the Mark A Whippet tanks
The diorama was made in 1:35 scale and represents a scene from the First World War invented by the modeller. There are plastic models of the British Mark A Whippet and the Mark V tanks on the diorama. The model of the Whippet tank was made from the Meng kit and the Mark V from the Tacom set. Figures are from the Black Dog set. A container was built from scratch with plastic plates.
Both tanks entered service quite late, only at the end of the First World War, in 1918.
The Mark V tank was another version of the Mark I - Mark IV tanks, which were slow and mainly served as infantry support. The speed of the tank on the road was of 7.4 km/h and the range was of 65 km.
The Mark A Whippet tank was faster. After breaking through the front line it was supposed to attack targets in the enemy's hinterland. The tank had a speed of 13.4 km/h and a range of 80 km.
