Plastic model of the Dornier Do 335 Pfeil aircraft

The diorama shows a fictitious scene from the Second World War. The plastic model of the German Dornier Do 335 Pfeil aircraft was made in 1:48 scale from the Tamiya kit. A number of accessories from the CMK company were used in the construction of the model. These were engines, propellers with hubcaps, a fuel tank, landing gear recesses, and a cabin and seat. The trees were made by the modeller. The figures come from the Preiser set.

The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a multi-role plane. It could be used as a fighter, a bomber or a reconnaissance plane.

The prototype of the aircraft was flown at the end of 1943. About 40 of these planes were produced in the years 1944-1945. They were probably only used for testing. There is no information that they done combat flights. The speed of the aircraft depended on its version and ranged from 700 to 765 km/h (435-475 mph). The service ceiling also depended on the version of the plane and ranged from 10,190 m to 11,410 m (33,430-37,430 ft).

  • Length: 13.87 m (45.5 ft),

  • Range: 2,050 km (1,274 mi),
  • Range with additional fuel tanks: 3,750 km (2,330 mi).
