Plastic model of the Dodge WC-63 truck
The diorama was made in 1:35 scale and depicts a fictitious scene from WWII. There is the plastic model of the American Dodge WC-63 military truck on the diorama. The model was made from the AFV Club set and enriched with photo-etched parts from the Aber.
The tarpaulin in the model truck was made of tissues. About 3 layers of tissues were soaked in thinned Wikol glue, formed into the expected shape, and after drying, painted.
The trees on the diorama were made from scratch. The green part of the trees was made from a plant called asparagus. It is very fragile after drying. That is why it has been sprayed with Silol (a medical aerosol used against burns), which created a reinforcing coating and thus prevented the plant on the diorama from crumbling. After drying, the twigs were painted with an airbrush.
The truck, the plastic model of which is shown on the diorama, was produced by Dodge during the Second World War. The vehicle belonged to the series marked WC. The WC-63 model was being produced in 1943. About 20,000 of these vehicles were built, and trucks from the entire WC series, in various versions, over 370,000.
The WC-63 model was equipped with an inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine driving all six wheels and a winch at the front of the vehicle.
