Resin bust of the German Gebirgsjäger

A resin bust of the German Gebirgsjäger from the Second World War was made in 1:10 scale from the MJ Miniatures set.

In German-speaking Alpine countries, soldiers from specialized mountain infantry are called Gebirgsjäger.

The insignia of these soldiers is the edelweiss. It is visible in the photos. This symbol was established in 1907 by Emperor Franz Joseph I. German soldiers wear it on the left side of the cap, while Austrian soldiers wear it on the collar. The Germans have been using this insignia since 1915, when they were honored with it by the Austrians, after fighting by their side against Italians.

During World War II, the Gebirgsjäger fought in the Caucasus, Crete and the Balkans, among others.
