The Samurai Fighting in a Duel
The exhibit was made of resin in 1:20 scale. The samurai figurine with two swords and a samurai in red armor (a figurine shown in the adjacent gallery) form one scene of dueling warriors.
The creator of the twin-sword fighting style was Musashi Miyamoto, one of the most famous characters among the Japanese samurai and ronin. Fighting with two swords required a lot of concentration and technical skills. Probably because of these difficulties, despite its great effectiveness, it has never been as popular as the classic style, i.e. the style of fighting with one sword.
Musashi Miyamoto is a historical figure, an undefeated swordsman in around 60 duels. He lived 61 years and died a natural death, which in the case of a warrior proves his skills. An interesting fact is that when dueling, he most often used a wooden sword, despite the fact that his opponents used real weapons.
